Article XIV - Code of Conduct
Section 1. Purpose
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to establish clear expectations for all members of
the Active Amateurs Radio Group of South Carolina to ensure a welcoming, safe, and
productive environment that advances our mission of promoting amateur radio in the
community.
Section 2. General Conduct
Members shall:
1. Conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner in all club activities,
both in-person and virtual
2. Respect all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
3. Support the club's mission of education, mentorship, and advancement of amateur
radio
4. Maintain the highest standards of decorum and mutual respect in all club
communications
5. Refrain from any form of harassment, discrimination, or hostile behavior
6. Protect the reputation of amateur radio and the club in all public interactions
hehehe ... dont know why but this makes me have a flashback to our indoctrination day of Nuclear Power School (38+ years ago) ... the XO had passed out a flyer of similar conduct expectations to our incoming class (900 of us packed into an auditorium made for 800) with him giving a line by line explanation ... (middle of August, Orlando FL ... AC broken) ... when it came to the following all law, ordinances and rules etc etc he asked "how many here go faster than the posted speed limit?" ... just about everyone raised their hand ... then the XO blew up like Gunnery SGT Hartman in FULL METAL JACKET ... he made it crystal clear that anyone getting a dui, speeding ticket, or any of several examples he spewed about would be losing at least one, if not more, stripes as well as loss of pay ... jeez ... no sense of humor, that guy <grin>
